There are just three days left until the start of the final race of the pigeon loft South Africa Million Dollar Pigeon Race 2017. Saturday’s race is expected to be a tight race where only the strongest and motivated pigeons will be on the podium. Weather conditions will add an extra difficulty, temperatures reaching 28 degrees celsius, but the temperature will feel much higher in reality. Neither the wind won’t help pigeons, wind changing the direction and intensity several times during the race, and in the end, as it is worse, pigeons will face the wind from the front.
In a very relaxed and pleasant ambiance, as it was throughout all competition, the breeders, friends and their families have spent and according to the program prepared by the organizers will spend fantastic three days. Positive emotions before boarding the pigeons combined with the hope of each breeder as his pigeons will be the stars of the final act, as well as the ambiance created by the organisers, have managed to transform the boarding formalities in a real party.
Seeing the program established by the organisers we are convinced that the final act will be a real delight. But let’s see the program …
Thursday 2nd February.
- Loft visits until 11h00. See enclosed bus schedule.
- Basketing of the pigeons will be in the E&E Centre at 12 noon. Please join us for this exciting event.
- Light meal and refreshments will be available.
- River Boma Braai Relax and enjoy a traditional South African Barbeque under the stars at the River Boma.
- Buses will transport you from the hotel from 18h00 to the Boma.
- Update: The event has been moved to the Breeze Restaurant at 6pm.
Friday 3rd February.
- Time to test your skills at the Fishing or Golf Tournament we have planned for you at Heron Banks or visit our new Lofts
- Perhaps the ladies would prefer an excursion to the charming town of Parys.
- Kindly see Deirdre in the lobby of the hotel to arrange your tour.
- 19h30. Welcome cocktail party in the Kilimanjaro Room in the hotel.
Saturday 4th February
- Limited loft visits until 11h30.
- Visit the E & E Centre where all the action will be taking place.
- Regular weather and race up-dates and viewing of previous Hot Spot races will be shown.
- Don’t forget to visit your favourite vendors at the Exhibition stands.
- Lunch will take place from 12 noon.
- Good Luck to all our entrants.
- Awards Dinner 19h30.
- The winners Awards Dinner will take place in the E & E Centre.
- Please join the party to celebrate the winners.
Sunday 5th February – Auction.
- Viewing of the winning pigeons to be auctioned starts at 09h00. Auction will start at 11h00.
- Only registered buyers with an I.D. bracelet will be permitted to handle the pigeons.
- Light refreshments will be available to registered buyers paying the R200.00 registration fee.
