Pigeon racing in Germany would be nowhere without Andreas & Walter Drapa. The palmares of this father-son combination is simply amazing, and no other German fancier could even get close to their impressive list of achievements. They have been really successful in the past ten years.
The only loft that might perhaps stand the comparison is that of G. & G. Vollmer from Kettwig-Ruhr. That was the loft that dominated the German championships in the early 1960s, eventually winning the title of 1st German Champion. G&G Vollmer have had many very successful seasons, although this is already quite a long time ago. Still, it was the only German loft that was just as overwhelmingly strong as that of Andreas & Walter Drapa.
Pokerface – a super class breeder
He showed his tremendous talent as a racing bird in a great number of races, which makes him a super class bird. His name is Pokerface, and he was 1st German & 2nd International Olympiad Pigeon in Posen 2011, 1st at the Europe Cup Allround 2010 and 1st Nat. Ace Pigeon RIRO 2009 with 9 first prizes. He followed in the footsteps of his sire Champ, the stock breeder in the Drapa loft. Hero, one of the first sons of Pokerface, has won nine first prizes, and one of Pokerface’s grandchildren won a 3rd National Ace Pigeon young birds HDI Germany, which made Andreas realise that Pokerface had a good chance of becoming his new super class breeder. He paired him with some of his best racing and breeding birds, and 2014 eventually proved a breakthrough season for Pokerface, as the new stock breeder for this loft.
Sky Fighter – a super class racing bird
Probably the strongest pigeon in the Drapa collection in 2013 and 2014 is Sky Fighter 01769-10-1492. He was 1st National ACe Pigeon HDI 2013 and 2014 and winner of 10 first prizes, which shows that is he is quite an exceptional racing bird indeed. Sky Fighter was bred from Pokerface x Olymiad Hen Penelope. These are his best results:

Another super class pigeon
Another pigeon worth a special mention is Shakira, 01769-11-59. She is a closely inbred daughter to the so called Königspaar, originating from a grandson x a daughter of this Königspaar. Shakira’s sire is Messi, one of the best sons of Champ. Messi was 1st International Ace Pigeon Europe Cup 2011 and has won four first prizes, including two victories from Arcis against 6,705 and 6,064 pigeons. The dam of Shakira is Mona Lisa, a daughter of König x Königin and a full sister of Champ and Carl. This is Shakira’s palmares:
1st Arcis – 1,265 p. (335 km) 1st Toul – 1,191 p. (202 km) 1st Sarrebourg – 946 p. (117km) 1st Arcis – 839 p. (335 km) 1st Toul – 495 p. (202 km) 2nd Saverne – 1,973 p. (111 km) 2nd St.-Dizier – 1,854 p. (275 km) 2nd Sens – 973 p. (416 km)
The pigeons of Andreas & Walter Drapa are exceptionally valuable both in the racing and the breeding loft.
